In recent days, as part of the prevention services to combat drug trafficking, the soldiers of the Operational Section of the Carabinieri Company of Taranto arrested a 30-year-old local man, allegedly responsible for “detention for the purpose of dealing drugs”.
The arrest is the result of a brilliant service operation, completed with the use of personnel from the Radiomobile Section of the same department, employed in 24-hour services for the control of the territory, even in the most peripheral areas, for the fight against to the drug phenomenon, as well as with the aim of increasing the so-called “perceived safety” of citizens.
The soldiers of the Carabinieri, thanks to targeted observation services, identified a house where the retail sale of narcotics took place.
Inside the apartment, subjected to a thorough search, the police found approximately 100 grams of hashish, as well as 300 euros in cash, presumed proceeds of the criminal activity. Well hidden, a small quantity of marijuana was also found.
The narcotic found was seized and sent to the Analysis Laboratory of the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Taranto, for subsequent sampling. The seized drugs could probably have led to a profit of around 1000 euros.
The arrested person, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence until the final sentence, after the ritual formalities, was taken to his home under house arrest.
