The Fiamme Gialle of Erba, in the province of How, counterfeit luxury brands such as “CELINE”, “HERMES”, “CHANEL”, “ORCIANI”, “GUCCI” and “BOTTEGA VENETA” were found at various commercial businesses. The seized accessories, underlines the Financial Police, present high quality standards for both the materials used and manufacturing. To verify the counterfeiting of the products it was in fact necessary to consult the experts of the well-known brands involved, who ascertained that the colours, shapes and some finishes were very similar to the original models, making them suitable for deceiving potential customers.
During the checks, in addition to the bags put up for sale for hundreds of euros, the military had 300 pairs of sandals were also seized bearing the “VERO CUOIO” brand, without title, and four women’s bags made with python skin illegally detained as they lack the documentation of legitimate origin required by the Washington Convention, international legislation for the protection of threatened wild fauna and flora species of extinction.
Investigative insights have made it possible to trace back to two companies supplying bags with fake designer labels, with an operational base in the Milan area, managed by both individuals of Chinese and Italian origin; during the searches, a further 450 counterfeit bags were seized in the warehouses of the two companies. The owners of the commercial activities, held responsible for the violations, were referred to the Judicial Authority for i crimes of trade in products with counterfeit brands and illicit possession of products derived from animal species at risk of extinction.
