25 April, Liberation events in Imola and the surrounding area – Saturday evening

Many events are scheduled tomorrow in the area to celebrate the Liberation.

TO Imola procession, music and readings. At 8.45 in Piazzale Giovanni dalle Bande Nere laying of a wreath on the tombstone of the partisans fallen in Bologna in the presence of the mayor Marco Panieri and the president of Anpi Imola Gabrio Salieri. At 9am departure of a procession through Piazza Matteotti, at 9.30am in Piazza Matteotti concert by the Banda Musicale Città di Imola and at the former Bar Bacchilega inauguration of the exhibition «When a Space Becomes a Place / Art4Rights» with readings of songs by Franco Leidi, partisan Italian. At 10.30 on stage there was a «Voices 4 Rights» performance, at the end of which a wreath was placed in the entrance hall of the Municipality at the memorial stone of the fallen in war, while at 11.20 the procession headed towards the Partisan Monument, in Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci, where the classes thirds of IC7 Orsini will give life to a performance. In Piazza Matteotti, at 4pm, installation and performance «Il Piedistallo Vooto» dedicated to women by Annalisa Cattani. At 4.45pm dance performance by Letizia Landi of IndipenDance Studio, while from 5pm to midnight local musical groups will alternate on stage with interventions by young people; from 5.30pm to 7.30pm SpazioBimbi organized by the Ponte Azzurro association.

TO Castel San Pietro, at 9am, flag-raising ceremony at the Alpini Group headquarters; at 9.30 in the cemetery in via Viara laying of a wreath at the Shrine of the Fallen and of a bouquet of flowers at the tomb of Ennio Frabboni; at 10 am meeting of citizens, schools, authorities, banner and band members in Piazza Martiri Partigiani and laying of a wreath on the plaque dedicated to the memory of the Partisan Martyrs; followed by a procession along Via Matteotti to Piazzale Vittorio Veneto with the laying of a wreath to the Fallen, then in Piazza XX Settembre the laying of wreaths to the lapidaries of the fallen; at 11.30 am mass in memory of all the fallen in the church of the Crucifix accompanied by the music of the Band; from 4pm to 9pm «Liberamusica. Art, music, food and refreshment” in Piazza Martiri Partigiani with a concert on April 25th and cultural initiatives organized by the associations Proloco, Uroboro, Anpi, Vari.china.

TO Dozza walk on the «Paths of Liberation». Meeting at 7.15 in Piazza Fontana and transfer by shuttle, at 8.15 departure from Via Valsellustra for the walk along the dirt roads and paths trodden by the Folgore Combat Group, from 10.30 flag raising in Piazza Carducci, laying of a wreath on the memorial stone for the fallen, intervention of the mayor, presentation of an award in memory of Mario Pozzi, Commander Tito of the Garibaldi Brigade, and performance by the Dozzese Band Group, at 12.30 Anpi lunch.

TO Medicine, from 9.45am, parade and official celebration under the loggia of the town hall, in via Libertà. TO Ozzano Emilia, at 8, in Piazza Allende with the start of the Resistance walk organized by Avis Ozzano; from 9am from Viale 2 Giugno departure of the celebratory procession led by the town band and parade arriving at the Resistance park where, in front of the War Memorial, a wreath will be placed in memory of the fallen of the Second World War; in conclusion, mass, greetings and speeches from the authorities, launching of balloons with messages of peace written by primary school students. At the end, a toast to the Liberation.
