Yet another serious event that occurred yesterday In the San Michele prison in Alessandria. He tells it Demis Napolitanodeputy regional secretary for Piedmont of KNOWS: “A Moroccan prisoner, around 1pm, went to the General Surveillance office but, finding no one, overturned a wardrobe. Restored to calm, the inmate made the planned video phone call, then returned to the same office and slipped through the staff gate. He pulled out a razor blade and threw himself at the policeman who, being good and prepared, disarmed him.”
The national secretary of the. compliments his colleague SAPPE Piedmont, Vicente Santilli: “LThe event was managed in the best possible way by the Penitentiary Police, who however paid in terms of stress and operations for these serious and continuous critical episodes: toaggressions, scuffles, injuries, brawls, attempted suicides. AND for us it is important and urgent to envisage a new custodial model”.

Through the general secretary of KNOWS Donato Capecethe prison officers are calling for a change of rules and the intervention of the relevant authorities: “They are needed urgent measures, starting with a harshening of sentences for prisoners who attack Penitentiary Police personnel during their stay in prison and ending up withexpulsion of all foreign prisoners in Italytoo often protagonists of such events”.
Then the appeal to the leaders of the DAP “to restore order and security, truly implementing that zero tolerance towards those violent prisoners who, even in prison, are convinced that they can continue to commit crimes with absolute impunity. SThe presence of the State is evident, strong and evident”.
