Lazio beat Juventus 2-1 in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. The Bianconeri, victorious 2-0 in the first leg in Turin, qualified for the final despite the defeat suffered in Rome. Lazio goes 2-0 with a brace from Castellanos, scoring in the 12th and 49th minutes. Juve closed the gap with Milik’s decisive goal, scoring in the 83rd minute. The second finalist will emerge from the match between Atalanta and Fiorentina scheduled for tomorrow.
The match
Biancocelesti took the lead in the 12th minute with an imperious header from Castellanos, who went over Alex Sandro from Luis Alberto’s corner and beat Perin. The Argentine himself wasted one-on-one with Perin at the end of the first half, again at the invitation of Luis Alberto. In the middle, Allegri’s team has two important opportunities with Cambiaso in the 8th minute who kicks out from an excellent position and with Vlahovic, in the small area, blocked by Mandas’ reflex.
At the start of the second half Lazio doubled their lead. In the 48th minute Castellanos scores again: a deadly lunge by Felipe Anderson who catches Luis Alberto in the midfield, then the Spaniard touches in depth for Castellanos who, having sprinted on the edge of offside, beats Perin for the 2-0. Juve tries to pick up the pace and comes close to scoring on two occasions with Vlahovic in the 56th and 57th minutes.
Lazio tries to manage the ball to look for the decisive attack but in the 83rd minute Milik blows up the Juventus bench: Weah stops the ball in the area, kicks hard towards the goal and is met by Milik who from two steps sends the ball to the behind Mandas into an empty net for 2-1. Lazio’s final forcing which does not lead to other opportunities: a place in the final for Juve who will await the winner of the other match between Atalanta and Fiorentina.
