The 2024 edition of the Competition also offers the prestigious special prizes “Special Mention Francesco Braschi – Kiwanis Club Trapani” and “Friends of Music of Alcamo”.

“The large participation of candidates – sixteen more than the last edition – indicates the trust that young opera singers, looking towards high professional and career prospects, place in the “Giuseppe Di Stefano” Competition. I believe this also depends on the quality of the international jury chosen to guarantee competence and impartiality, as well as on the work put up for competition – “Die zauberflöte” by WA Mozart – which has always been one of the most fascinating and complex testing grounds for young voices. . Another aspect that I like to underline is the large range of nations represented: this testifies, once again, that Music unites peoples and is a bulwark of Peace and the Culture of Peace.” – thus declares Walter Roccaro, artistic director of the Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese.

“The “Giuseppe Di Stefano” International Opera Competition represents a significant moment for the promotion of culture and opera in Trapani and beyond. After years of interruption, we strongly desired the return of this competition which celebrates opera, an art that knows no boundaries and which has the power to unite people through the beauty and emotion of music.

Marsala. Success at Sollima for the flamenco guitar concert – Last April 21st at the Sollima Theater in Marsala, for the 2024 Concert Season of the L. Van Beethoven Association, directed by Maestro Giuseppe Lo Cicero, a rare concert took place; an amazing success created by Juan Lorenzo dedicated to the flamenco guitar.

Juan led the audience by the hand through a detailed explanation of the various styles of flamenco, which includes not only Spanish popular music but also multiple Arab and Argentine influences.

A complex synergy of melodies and rhythmic accompaniments that distinguish the flamenco style, literally conquered the audience present who repeatedly asked for encores, granted by the Maestro. A great concert that once again enhances the program of the concert season by registering a sold out event.

The next appointment is May 5th, with the duo Martegiani-Di Fulvio (vocals and guitar), “from Samba to Bossa nova”.

Secure your seat at the theater by booking: 320 6905330 / 351 2337262, or at DNT Service via Sibilla 12, Marsala.
