Starting from the first minute as a left winger in the victorious match against Ponsacco, the 2004-born player who grew up in the Pisa youth team did not lack his drive, as well as defending with the right attitude until his exit from the field in favor of his teammate Andrea Bellini .
For Ceccanti it was a season where he learned a lot, under the wise advice of coach Marco Masi and the red and white staff. «I feel good in this role – he says – you can push and defend by giving everything. Then we have two starting teams, so we can manage ourselves well. Since it is my first year among the adults, I have taken on all the possible experiences that can help me grow both as a person and as a footballer. I’ve gotten used to the pace of the grown-ups, which is higher than in the Primavera. Seeing all the important players we have will help me for the following years. You can learn a lot from your teammates even in training, which we experience with very high intensity. I also feel much improved in my movements and in many other things. We are a group where everyone helps everyone, young and old. The advice plays a fundamental role and we are seeing it from the results, because we are in the running for both the Italian Cup and the championship. And with Ponsacco we demonstrated that it’s not over yet, we all believe in it together and we won’t give up.”
Onward to the end. «We have important objectives, for example we deserved to play in the Cup final – analyzes Ceccanti – Trapani has already won the championship and is a great team, but in direct clashes we have also shown that we can compete with everyone. The group’s work bears very important fruits. I’m experiencing one of the best seasons of my career. We started a little timidly but we were a new team that had to understand some mechanisms, then we recovered a lot of points and even ended up being first. All thanks to training done with the right mentality. And if we continue like this, even if there are 180 minutes left in the championship, we can get great satisfaction because we never give up. Trying to finish the Italian Cup in a wonderful way.”
The Ponsacco match was important for restarting. «In the first half the pitch didn’t allow us to make the most of our qualities – he continues – it was small and not well placed, but we adapted. We were immediately aggressive and had some bad luck, with a crossbar and shots that went just wide. In the second half we broke the deadlock immediately, even though it wasn’t an easy match against Ponsacco. Two beautiful and important goals arrived, after which we managed to manage the result. I also tried to score, I shot to cross but the ball just went out. If the first goal arrives I will be happy, but I am interested in the team’s victory.”
Ceccanti hasn’t scored a goal yet, but two assists have arrived during the season. And a wish for the future, given his young age. «I’m on loan from Pisa, we’ll decide what to do in the summer – he concludes – My future will depend on me and the teams I play for, but my goal is to always give my best in any situation, as I’m doing this year».
