Two episodes in just 48 hours. Another argument escalated into violence in Campobasso, this time in the historic center. After the injury of a citizen originally from Bangladesh on Saturday evening in the industrial area, on Sunday evening the central Via Ziccardi was the scene of an argument between two non-EU citizens which culminated in a real attack. According to what was reconstructed by the police officers who intervened on the spot, one of the two subjects involved was beaten with a stick. The attacker, noticing the arrival of the Volante, attempted to escape but was blocked and taken to the offices in via Tiberio. The injured boy was first treated on site by the 118 paramedics and then transported to Cardarelli for the necessary treatment. The doctors reported several bruises on his legs. The reasons for the dispute are still to be clarified and are being investigated by the police, who do not exclude any leads, including those linked to drug dealing. The fact is that yet another episode of violence has raised an alarm bell in the historic center where residents complain of a situation that is now unlivable. «We are afraid to leave the house – they say – many elderly, disabled and children live here. It’s not possible to find yourself in the middle of fights and arguments every night.” Residents are therefore asking for more controls, especially at weekends.
