We have talked about it many times and we have always supported a thesis that, in our opinion, seemed linear and coherent. Marco Baroni understood this along the way and his seasons changed and improved also and above all because of this. At a certain point in his two championships on the Lecce bench, in fact, he brought Alexis Blin onto the pitch to balance a team that he was unable to defend with the same organization with which he attacked. And Morten Hjulmand also benefited a lot from that tactical choice as, from that moment on, he stopped representing the only screen in front of the defense, given that Blin covered his back and helped him in the interdiction phase.
Gotti understood it immediately
Luca Gotti arrived and didn’t do anything incredible, also because with 10 days to go there was no need for an upset. He inserted Blin, however, and did so by placing him alongside Ramadani, in a 2-man midfield that gave balance and substance to the whole team. On Sunday, however, due to the absence of the Albanian midfielder, Blin played together with Rafia, helping the Tunisian in a role that wasn’t his and hiding some of the Tunisian’s mistakes with a tactically perfect match.
Blin, the irreplaceable
Blin is banned and sooner or later will miss a match but we don’t want to think about that now. The former Toulouse player is too important for this Lecce team and with him on the pitch the team has finally managed to rediscover the order of the past, the one that perhaps we hadn’t exactly seen since the last championship. D’Aversa, unfortunately, was unable to find the right tactical position for the Frenchman, who however represents an indispensable player for this team. A charismatic leader on and off the field, Alexis Blin is the player every coach would want on their roster.
