A triumph of colours, music and dance to celebrate the World Earth Day. A moment of celebration whose protagonists were the little students of the School of‘Childhood “Pellogrino Park” of the Don Milani uno + Institute Maiorano of Manfredoniatogether with patients of the Alda Merini Psychosocial Rehabilitation Day Centre”.
The event was organized by the project “NEMO (Nature and Education for new participatory models): the educating community of Borgo Bambino”selected by the Social Enterprise With the children within the scope of the Fund to combat child educational poverty and is part of the activities of the ̀, (project partner) which deals with the reintegration of people suffering from mental distress in the social and working fabric.
It was the children who held real lessons on environmental protection, who after having ignited the awareness in the community that only by starting with small daily gestures can we ensure a better future for the planet, they also cleaned and tidied up the green area of their school with the help of parents, grandparents, volunteers and special friends.
“With this day – explains Vittoria Del Grosso, Coordinator of the Day Center-Psychè Association – we have overturned the reading codes, with adults becoming students and children teaching to respect the environment and break down prejudice, restoring dignity to people with mental disorders. The celebrations of the Earth, sponsored by the Municipality of Manfredoniacontinued in the afternoon with waste collection also in the green area of Piazza delle Mimose by volunteers supported by technicians from the ASE (Ecological Services Company) of Manfredonia.
