What role could Action have in bringing down Emiliano in Puglia

The center-right wants the resignation of the president, who has uncertain numbers in the regional council after the 5S majority left. The numbers, for now, add up thanks to the support of the Calendians who ask in an anti-corruption key to “rotate the managers of strategic sectors”

While Elly Schlein from the Nazarene continues to ask Michele Emiliano to revolutionize his council after the well-known judicial news events, the Apulian centre-right strikes a blow and asks for the Emir’s resignation, which may no longer have the numbers in the Regional Council. In fact he manages to survive in an “Andreottian” way thanks to the three Action votes.

The Melonian group leader in the Region, Francesco Ventola, has called a press conference to announce that, with FI, Lega and Puglia Tomorrow, he will present a motion in which he asks for Emiliano’s resignation. The center-right minority’s stunt is aimed at bringing the malpancists of the progressive camp out into the open, after the arrests and investigations of recent weeks. “The center-left no longer has the numbers,” attacks Ventoladetermined to challenge first the Five Star Movement and then Action, political forces that, by voting for Emiliano, could create embarrassment for their respective national leaders.

The situation is made heated by the questionable choice of the president of the Apulian Council, the dem Loredana Capone, to postpone the session scheduled for tomorrow, motivating it with a majority vote in the group leaders, due to “the announced absence of five PD councillors”. For the Melonians, the postponement (to May 7) “is yet another demonstration of arrogance in the exercise of power. We are not aware that the Councils were ever “dismissed” because some colleagues were apparently absent.” Here is the political gimmick to ferret out the double agents (the reference to Count Mascetti, whose elected officials are eager to return to the council quickly): “President Emiliano has reached the end, that’s enough. We will present a motion of no confidence against Emiliano, we hope that other forces that declare themselves to be in opposition will also add their signatures. It will be curious to see if President Conte will come again to sign the motion”, concludes Ventola.

What does Action do? The reformist party participated in the last majority summit, in which it forcefully requested (not positions in the council) but “an immediate rotation of the managers of strategic sectors”, in order to avoid any slippery contiguities. The measure, the Calendians explain, was already foreseen by the three-year anti-corruption law, but remained only on paper. Some hypothesize that the regional council may already intervene in this direction – with the required changes – in the next few hours. Maybe.
