PONTEDERA. Half a misstep for Canzi’s Pontedera who were unable to go beyond a draw at Mannucci, 2-2, with Olbia and slipped from 7th to 8th place in the standings. Worse still goes to the Sardinians, now mathematically relegated to Serie D.
The guests themselves started better and took the lead at the start with Palomba. Pontedera didn’t have it and equalized in the 20th minute with Delpupo who placed the decisive shot in the melee. At the end of the first half the overtaking was done with the first goal of the season by Ambrosino who mocked the Olbia goalkeeper with a cross shot. It seems done, but in the second half Catania equalizes in the 52nd minute. Both teams then look for the winning shot but no one finds it and, in the end, no one can really smile.
