Guaranteed timetables and trains in Milan and Lombardy

From 3.00 am on 22 April 2024 to 2.00 am on 23 April 2024, a strike has been proclaimed on Trenord trains in Lombardy, which could result in inconveniences, delays or cancellations on the lines, as reads in a Trenord note. How to request a refund in case of delays or cancellations

To protect those who have monthly and annual railway passes, integrated with TrenoCittà and Ivol, the Transport Regulatory Authority has established that compensation should be paid. This must be requested by the subscriber and will only be given when the sum of the trips that have been totally canceled and those that have accumulated more than 15 minutes of delay is equal to or greater than 10 percent of the scheduled trains.

In the case of IVOL integrated subscriptions, however, the value is calculated on the performance of all the routes.

As stated on the company website, “the compensation amount is equal to 30 percent of the value of the monthly railway season ticket and 1/12 of 30 percent of the annual season ticket. For integrated season tickets, however, the value of the The compensation is equal to 10 percent of the share of the fare due to Trenord”. It cannot be requested for free subscriptions.

It is possible to send it by e-mail to the certified mail address [email protected] or by ordinary mail (Trenord Srl – Refunds Office, Piazzale Cadorna 14 – 20121 Milan), filling out the form that will be found on the site and attaching a copy of the identity document. In the case of a monthly pass, it can be requested within 12 months from the end date of validity of the travel ticket.

In the case of an annual subscription, for each month for which you are entitled to it, no later than 12 months from the publication of the list of Directors for which it is possible to request it. This is in fact shared monthly on the site. The compensation will be paid in the form of a voucher and will last for one year from the date of issue: it can be used to purchase Trenord products and services. You can also request payment via bank transfer.

For train journeys with integrated IVOL season tickets purchased from other operators, Trenord specifies that “in order to request compensation, the railway line on which the journey is mainly made must be declared by the 5th day of the month of use of the travel ticket, via the specific online form”.

Buses, metro and ATM trams are guaranteed on April 22nd

The strike will not involve the buses, metro and trams of the Milanese transport company. For Monday 22 April, therefore, you will be able to use public transport safely without any repercussions.
