The staff of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office of the Ferrara Police Headquarters carried out, on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th April, extraordinary control services of the territory for the fight against crimes in general.

The activity, carried out together with patrols of the Emilia Romagna Crime Prevention Department of Bologna, affected the area of Aguscello, Pontegradella, Borgo Punta, via Frutteti, via Siepe and the surrounding areas, as well as the Gad area. In particular, during the services carried out in the area in front of the railway station and Viale IV Novembre, two foreign citizens, part of the operators, were subjected to checks.
The first was found to be without identity documents and was therefore accompanied to the police headquarters. Since he was not in compliance with the legislation on residence, he was made the recipient of a expulsion decree and accompanied to the Repatriation Retention Center in Palazzo San Gervasio, in Potenza, for the return to the country of origin.
The second man, subjected to a check in Viale IV Novemnre, was found to carefully hide, inside a dirty handkerchief used to blow his nose, a narcotic substance of the type hashish weighing approximately 5 grams. Furthermore, he was found in possession of cash for the sum of 480 euros. For this reason he was reported for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking.
The checks were also extended to the gardens of Viale Cavour and the surrounding areas. During the services they were a total of 70 people were identified, of which 9 were already known to the police, 18 vehicles were inspected and 2 checkpoints were carried out. The services will continue in the coming weeks.
