Interviewed by Sportweekthe Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbianon which Inter maintains the right of repurchase, retraces the stages of the career that saw him arrive in the Nerazzurri youth sector after winning the Under 15 scudetto with the Padova shirt.

In Padua you won the Under 15 championship and understood that football would be your future?
“No (laughs). I dreamed of it, but without really thinking about it. That scudetto was the culmination of a journey that began when I was 8 years old. Then I moved to Inter.”

Where do you find Chivu as a coach.
“He influenced my way of playing a lot. And it was nice to listen to his anecdotes as a former Inter player, especially linked to the treble victory.”

Your first professional coach was a certain Pippo Inzaghi…
“He let me play, he gave me a lot of valuable advice, he had good words towards me publicly. We still talk.”

You said: Thiago Motta won me over by listing my flaws. Which?
“Eh, these are things between the two of us and they must stay between the two of us. But it’s true that, on our first phone call, he made it clear to me what he thought I should improve on.”

You said: “I like being at Bologna because they play good football.”
“Yes, we are a team that always tries to find the solution to get out of our own half of the pitch with the ball on the ground: it is a choice that presupposes the assumption of responsibility. It’s nice to play for Bologna and it’s nice to see us play.”
