The organic wine of the Badia agricultural company of the “Abele Damiani Agricultural Institute”, produced by the students, was awarded at Vinitaly 2024 as the best wine presented by the Italian agricultural institutes. Giorgio Amato, Antonino Adamo, Gaspare Giacalone, Marco Santangelo are some of the students who participated in the project and received the award at Vinitaly.

“This prestigious award received by the Badia agricultural company starts from the project to valorise the Institute’s organic vines – Prof Christian Giacalone tells us -. Motivated students and teachers participated with the collaboration of the company employees and continued up to the winemaking in the educational cellar of the Agricultural and experimental cellar of the Vine and Wine Institute”.

“Zibibbo is the award-winning wine – says Prof Bartolo Tumbarello – but we also presented grillo and nocera, two other vines that we grow on the institute’s farm. A fantastic emotion shared with all the students. An award that does not we imagined we could receive and that it does honor to the school.”

“A great experience had at Vinitaly this year, an unexpected prize, something that makes us proud thanks to the kids, teachers and workers who work those lands all year round – the words of the director of Abele Damiani Domenico Pocorobba – who today they were rewarded for having brought the best wine among all the schools that presented their wines. This result leads us to make a reflection and an invitation to politicians, local authorities and businesses that revolve around the world of wine. , is to be closer to school. Our children are our future and our future cannot ignore agriculture and the economy it creates”.
