Descriptive text here

Sara Cantagalli She was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma. She has since undergone chemotherapy, but now that she is 5 years old she has had to stop treatment because the disease has begun to resist therapy. The family of her little girl who lives in Faenza, in the province of Ravenna, has therefore decided to let her spend the time she has left by having fun and trying to fulfill her wishes. A list of the latter has been prepared and a fundraiser has been launched to try to achieve them all.

The wish list

Sara’s list is the one common to many girls of her age. «Being a princess in a castle for a day; ski; grow flowers in a flower nursery; go to Disneyland; have a party with inflatables and lots of children to play with; visit the Rome zoo; visit the Genoa aquarium; take a beach holiday; go to Gardaland; model for a day and wear lots of clothes.”

Fundraising

As we read on the Facebook page “Children’s Santa Claus”, managed by a volunteer who, at the parents’ choice, updates on little Sara’s situation, «it has been decided not to do the chemo anymore. Now Sara will be given drugs to help her stay up, because in the last few days she always asks to be helped to get up and often falls asleep because she is tired and loses liveliness. In agreement with the parents I inform you of the following. From the checks carried out and Sara’s clinical situation, the medical team that follows her has informed us that there is nothing more that can be done for her, her disease unfortunately also resists chemo and making this therapy more difficult would only serve to make Sara feel even worse, because her little body no longer receives anything, and she suffers a lot under chemo.”

«Now, also on the advice of the doctors who follow Sara, we will spend all the time that God wants to give her, entertaining her and taking her to the places she wants, because this is all that humanly, I, and her parents can do. From this moment Sara’s parents will no longer reply to anyone on their page (Little Sara, ed.) but will only share posts from my page, which remains the only one on Sara’s situation. I ask you not to contact them and not to ask questions, because you will not have any answers, now the only thing they have to do is stay with their daughter for however long they are allowed”, the post continues.

A few posts later, still on the same page, Sara’s wish list and the fundraising were announced: «I ask anyone who has the financial or material possibility of being able to make Sara’s wishes come true, to let me know at the email address: Ilbabbonataledeibambini@ gmail.com, attaching your name, surname and telephone number, and which wish you would like to contribute to. Then you will be contacted by me in person with a private number, to understand if this can be done, and in what way, always considering and allowing for Sara’s health conditions. I ask anyone to share this message and let it reach as many people as possible, we try as much as possible to give Sara moments of happiness and serenity because believe me, she deserves them all. For my part, I will already make 4 of her wishes come true that I had promised her for a long time. These include horseback riding and helicopter riding. If I could do everything by myself, I would have already done it, but I need your help because I am a normal person and I am not wealthy, but I think that there is strength in unity.” Meanwhile, with the fundraising, two wishes have already been booked: visiting the Genoa aquarium and taking a beach holiday.
