Filming of the film “Don Quixote” in Basilicata. We are looking for Lucanian actors and actresses for two castings in Potenza and Matera

Baby Films Srl of Rome, with the support of the Lucana Film Commission, organizes individual auditions to complete the cast of the film “Don Quixote” by Fabio Segatori with Alessio Boni in the leading role, Marcello Fonte (Palme d’Or in Cannes) and Angela Molina. Filming of the film is scheduled from 6 May to 14 June 2024 in the gullies area, between Pisticci, Montalbano Ionico and Aliano. The film is freely based on a play by Gerardo Guerrieri, the great Matera author, screenwriter and director written in 1978 with Mariano Rigillo. For this reason, for the value of the cast and for the Lucanian territories chosen to set the story of one of the most visionary and well-known characters in world literature, the Lucana Film Commission will support the production in
Basilicata of two of the total six weeks of making Don Quixote. The two castings in Potenza and Matera will be an important opportunity to highlight our excellence” – states the President of the Lucana Film Commission, Margherita Gina Romaniello.

The search for the artistic cast, the technical cast and the workers carried out by Baby Films for Don Quixote started from the database made available by the Lucana Film Commission. The production is collecting applications from actresses and actors living in Basilicata for the roles of:

1. DULCINEA (20) Beautiful as an angel, delicate, spiritual;
2. GRANDDAUGHTER (25) Naive, irregular features, funny
3. DUCHESS (45) Beautiful, angelic face, ferocious and icy
4. COURT JESTER Dwarf
5. ENERGUMENO (25-45) Colossal man (190 cm and above, no tattoos)
6. COUNTESS TRIFALDI(40-60) Thin, Picassian face

Those selected will be called on Tuesday 23 April from 10am to 1pm at the Malvaccaro Social Center, in via Raffaele Danzi in Potenza and from 3pm to 6pm at the “Guerrieri” Theater in Matera, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 23.
