LAWN. Everything is ready for the 35th edition of “Da piazza a piazza” on mountain bikes. Tomorrow with meeting in via Bisenzio in San Martino and departure from the bed of the river Bisenzio Parco degli Ulivi at 9.30 before the Marathon (km 65 and 2,130 m of altitude difference) and after 5 minutes of the Granfondo (km 39 and 1,250 m of altitude difference). There will be a wave of bikers who will go up to Valbisenzio. It will be a stage of the Coppa Toscana MTB as well as the two groups of the Rampitek and the Deltos Cup.
The event is one of the oldest on the national fat wheel calendar and as always attracts the attention of many leading teams. It will be like this again this year given that some of the stars of Italian MTB and not only have ensured their participation, making the Prato test a key event of the season.
SoudalLeecougan will be present in force, with the Colombian two-time world champion Leonardo Paez, the German European champion Adelheid Morath and the Italian champion Sandra Mairhofer, winner last year, who will find what they are looking for, given the presence of the BottecchiaFactory Team led by that Stefano Valdrighi winner so far of the three previous stages of the Coppa Toscana MTB, in Monteriggioni, Porto Santo Stefano and Sinalunga. Also pay attention to Rolling Bike, the Calabrian team that with Pierpaolo Ficara, Vincenzo Saitta and Emanuele Spica is collecting great results throughout Italy.
The Mentecorpo Cicli Drigani team arrives from the other part of Italy, precisely from Piedmont, with Chiara Burato candidate for success but also with Pietro Dutto and Stefano Goria. The main route measures 65 km with a difference in altitude of 2130 metres, with the Mountain Grand Prix at an altitude of 866 metres. The average route is 39 km by 1,250 metres. There will be four refreshment areas at km 10, 35, 47 and 57. Prizes for the first 3 overall and 5 in the category for the Marathon, first 3 overall and in the category for the Granfondo. The post-race services are near the village with bike washing, showers and pasta parties.
