Taranto – Tuesday 23 April Simone Cristicchi presents his “Sound Painting” at the MArTa Museum – PugliaLive – Online information newspaper

dedicated to the “Ricciardi Collection” of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto

In October 2023, the master Simone Cristicchi in front of the paintings of Ricciardi Collection of the National archaeological museum of Taranto it was said “as excited as the groom before meeting the bride”.

Now next Tuesday 23 April, the well-known Italian artist returns to Taranto and to MArTA, to present the “Sound Painting” inspired by the seventeenth and eighteenth century paintings of the Collection.

The original and registered project of theICO Magna Grecia and the National Archaeological Museum of Tarantocreated in collaboration with the MICthe Puglia Region and The Municipality of Taranto, brings back to Taranto a great artist called to interpret a piece of cultural heritage in music and thus compose a “sound picture” that will become an integral part of that place.

This is the third installation within the MArTA, after that of the maestro and Oscar winner, Dario Marianelli and that of the singer-songwriter Achille Lauro.

The other sound paintings, installed in the city, are those of Maestro Remo Anzovino (Concattedrale Gran Madre di Dio by the great architect Giò Ponti), Maestro John Rutter (Cathedral of San Cataldo) and Maestro Giovanni Sòllima (Aragonese Castle).

The presentation of the “Sound Picture” by Maestro Simone Cristicchi will take place during an event in which the work will be performed and open to the press, scheduled for 12.30pm on Tuesday 23 April.

Maestro Cristicchi, La. will be present at the meeting with journalists director of the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, Stella Falzone and the director of the Orchestra of Magna Graecia, Piero Romano.
