Descriptive text here

Last November 20, the municipal administration of Cesena officially launched an awareness-raising process on the issue of the recognition of Italian citizenship for minors born in Italy to foreign parents or born abroad but who have completed a cycle of studies in Italy, which primarily and widely affected the lower secondary schools of Cesena. Over the course of these months, thirteen classes – for a total of over 300 students – from the “Viale della Resistenza”, “Via Pascoli” and “Via Anna Frank” schools were involved in the citizenship education project “Cesenati Anche Noi”.

The educational path intended for class groups saw the creation of three workshops curated by some local entities active in the cultural and social field: Cesena Peace Center, On the right side of history and Bluebeard. The objective was to involve students in a path that allows them to explore the processes of identity construction, to understand the importance of the right to citizenship and to imagine, together, a new way of being and recognizing themselves ” citizens”.

Today, at the end of the work developed in the months of February and March, the classes and schools involved were invited to take part in a public moment of restitution of the lived experience which will take place as part of the Liberation Day on Thursday 25 April, at 4.30 pm, at the Serravalle Gardens in Cesena. On stage there will be alternating interventions and testimonies that will give voice to the key themes and results of the “Cesenati Anche Noi” journey: a choral story that will end with the performance of the intercultural choir “Bandada”.

The program of the day

The party will begin at 3pm on Thursday 25 April in the splendid natural setting of the Serravalle Gardens. Citizens will be able to benefit from a children’s space area organized by UISP Cesena and Progetto 11, but there will be various meeting opportunities and entertainment initiatives proposed by Uniradio Cesena and the Constitution Committee. At 4.00 pm the spotlight will turn on the concert of the young singer-songwriter from Cesena G.em. Afterwards, at 4.30 pm, you will be able to take part in the final moment of the project “New citizenships – Cesenati also us”, with the presentation of the laboratory activities and the testimonies. At 5.30 pm we will return to singing with the intercultural choir “Bandada”. The afternoon will continue with the parade in traditional clothes organized by the Senegalese community – Yakkar Association, dancing with the Bangladesh Youth Association and music. The refreshment point with local food trucks will be active throughout the afternoon.
