The Municipality says no to the hypermarket in the Cardaminopsis area

“The provision of subjection to EIA constitutes a reason for rejecting the application”: citing DGR n.1193 of 20 December 2013, the Comune rejected the application for commercial authorization of Cardaminopsis.

This is the outcome of the services conference that took place in the Region on 11 April and of the request for environmental impact assessment by the Regional Environment Directorate on 9 April for the hypermarket project in the Cardaminopsis area in the Paullese frieze.

The act of denial is signed by the architect Marco Masserdotti, manager of the Urban Planning, Commerce and Crafts sector and puts an end for the moment to this project which returned to the limelight – after years of silence – on 24 September 2023 when the Cardaminopsis – company agricultural, has submitted the application for authorization to open a Large Sales Structure (GSV) of the Shopping Center type on approx. 7,660 (4,750 m2 for food and 2,910 m2 for the non-food sector) and an average sales structure of 250 m2 for the food sector and 410 m2 for the non-food sector.

All within a much larger agricultural lot, 45,487 m2, of which 20,020 m2 for the commercial lot and
25,467 m2 for urban planning standards.

“Within the deadline for concluding the authorization procedure – we read in the denial – it is not possible to conclude the EIA procedure”. In other words, it seems to be understood, the process would involve the proposing company requesting the initiation of the EIA procedure with all the required design details, and before all this is completed and produced, the request for commercial authorization in due course submitted would have expired.

Naturally, both against the EIA decree and against the denial expressed in the last services conference, Cardaminopsis can appeal to the TAR within 60 days.
