Torcetti and meat, the (good) food festivals – Turin News

Another weekend is coming and in Piedmont, with the good weather and longer days, festivals, fairs and open-air events are multiplying. This weekend in the province of Turin there is no shortage of food and wine events. In the foreground ad Agliè, the Torcetto Festival is in its 34th edition: a real celebration dedicated to the sweet protagonist, the toretto. A true delicacy made of simple ingredients: a small breadstick rolled in sugar, then folded and joined at the two ends in the characteristic drop shape. But under the ancient porticoes of the historic village and in Piazza Castello, you can taste and buy other typical Piedmontese sweets and various delicacies from the area.

TO Vinovo, on the other hand, hosts the Tyrolean Gastronomic Festival in Piazza Rey in Vinovo. The specialties of South Tyrol and Tyrol will be the focus of attention. From dumplings to Gröstl, roasted potatoes with speck, meat and eggs; from Spätzle, the typical irregularly shaped dumplings, to apple strudel, with fresh beer “at a drop”. And lots of music.

The Frog Festival is the protagonist this weekend in San Ponso with dishes, specialties and menus based on frogs, all accompanied by good music, dancing evenings and many collateral events including the display of Fiat 500s, the XII Gathering of historic cars, of the Badgers Off-Road Vehicles and much more.
Cavour instead celebrates Piedmontese breed meat with the 24th edition of the fair dedicated to the prized Fassona. There will be the zootechnical exhibition, the display of agricultural machinery, the stalls and, under the Ala del Gusto, the gastronomic events where boiled meat and meat will be the most sought-after delicacies.

The weekend in the historic center of Vigone where VigoneFlor is scheduled is dedicated to floriculture, gardening and agricultural producers. Reaching the Cuneo area, in Cavallermaggiore, you will finally be able to participate in the Gorgonzola festival on stage until April 28th. Ten days of fairs, lunches, dinners, live music and DJ sets.
