Inter are playing for supremacy against Cagliari

Five days to the end of the championship and the Nerazzurri in the lead, +3 from Roma and +4 from Lazio. To defend the position that qualifies for access to the playoff semi-finals (the teams from third to sixth position will instead start from the quarter-finals), Chivu’s team takes to the field this morning, at home at 11 am, against Cagliari. The last round was particularly positive in which the second consecutive victory arrived: after the 1-0 against Frosinone, 3-0 in the direct clash against Sassuolo, thanks to a brace from Quieto (in the photo) before the final stamp from Miconi. Not only that: the slowdown of Roma who drew with Juventus (3-3, with a back and forth in the final minutes between the black and white Mancini and the yellow and red D’Alessio) and the fall of Atalanta right on the Cagliari pitch (1- 3), translated into an increased margin at the top of the table for the Nerazzurri. The Sardinians, who returned to winning ways after the defeat against Lazio (0-1) and the draw with Sassuolo (2-2), have been safe for some time, but can still aspire to the playoffs: five points behind sixth place, even if Turin and Verona are in the middle.

On paper, a favorable round for Inter compared to Roma who will meet Sassuolo: sixth and in full play-off battle, given that they are equal on points with Torino, -1 behind Milan.

However, also pay attention to Lazio, playing against second-to-last Monza and with only a two-point margin over last place, which is worth relegation to Primavera 2. Milan, playing yesterday in the Youth League, will make up the thirtieth matchday on 1 May, when they face Bologna away at 3pm.
