Temperatures as in winter, new temperature drop in the next few days; the details

The climate scenario in our country has undergone a real metamorphosis, going from a practically summer context to an almost winter one. Temperatures, in fact, dropped sharply, now settling at values ​​below the climatological average for the period.

The reason is to be found in the movement, partly towards the west and partly towards the north, of high pressure, an atmospheric mechanism which is causing the descent of very cold winds towards Italy and which will continue for many more days.
The climate of the next weekendtherefore, will present very different characteristics compared to the hot ones of weekend past. Low temperatures are expected throughout the national territory, which will continue to be cold during the night in the northern regions, where in the last few hours they have already approached levels close to the freezing.

And the situation is not likely to change at least by the start of next week when a core of freezing air at high altitude (about -32°C at 5500 meters altitude) will decentralize to the north-west regions, still causing conditions of severe bad weather and harsh climate, almost with a winter flavour. The temperatures they will remain very low, especially in areas affected by rain and even thunderstorms like in the middle of winter in Piedmontwith the risk of snow up to just 300 meters above sea level.

To attend a more marked change in the climate panorama it will probably be necessary to wait beyond the middle of next weekwhen it seems likely that high pressure will begin to stabilize atmospheric conditions and encourage temperatures to rise.
