They heard the screams of a woman coming from a building, so they ran up the stairs to the second floor: here was the woman, desperate, with her two-year-old child in her arms, cyanotic and motionless.

It was the quick wit of a policeman from the Cremona Flying Squad that saved the child who was suffocating thanks to the Heimlich maneuver. A decisive operation to unblock the trachea, blocked by a morsel of food.

The officer, with a colleague, was carrying out a normal patrol in the city when he heard the screams of the woman who, on the balcony of a building, was loudly asking for help while holding the child in her arms. The officers immediately alerted 118 and, while waiting for help to arrive, one of the policemen performed a life-saving maneuver on the child. After several attempts, the child gradually regained color and then consciousness. He started coughing and crying. Save. The officers waited for help to arrive, also reassuring his 4-year-old sister, who was frightened by the commotion. The child was taken to hospital only as a precaution.
