The whole name for the Milan bench is already going crazy: the candidates for the post-Pioli position
Descriptive text here

The humiliating elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Roma effectively put an end to Milan’s hopes of achieving the last major trophy goal remaining for this season and, with them, also to a good part of the percentages that they saw Stefano Pioli reconfirmed on the Rossoneri bench for next year too. We are, evidently, at the end of the cycle and, evidently, at the end of the season there will be a change. But who could arrive on the Milan bench in Pioli’s place?

The most remote hypotheses
The fans’ dream is one: Antonio Conte. Free for more than a year now, the Salento coach has been making it clear for months in every way – and in a more or less explicit manner – that he wants to coach Milan, but Milan would not consider him suitable, more for personal characteristics than for economic needs, in line with the Club project; a reverse is remote, but in football you never say never. The same reasons, even if with different characters, easily extinguish Maurizio Sarri’s fire. On Thiago Motta, however, the pressure for Juventus for the post Allegri seems unsurpassable.

The most plausible hypotheses
So who remains? In addition to the Italians, who don’t tease too much, Italiano, Palladino, Gilardino and Farioli, pay particular attention to a foreign profile. Lopetegui’s name has been at the top of the news for months: the Spaniard is not at all naive and gives some guarantees, but also some question marks. The name of Marco Rose, current coach of Leipzig, is interesting, as he is a man suited to the characteristics of Milan’s technical project, despite the fact that profiles of this type in Italian football always include important unknowns. Paulo Fonseca’s candidacy seems to come more from the Portuguese coach himself than from Milan’s ideas.
