Reggio Calabria celebrates this important anniversary by hosting, on Friday 26 April 2024, the relay which, starting from Sicily, will unite all of Italy, like an imaginary line, in a single feeling.

The commemoration will develop in various aggregating moments, through a series of events that demonstrate the commitment and will of the Adult Scouts to be protagonists in welcoming, as a sign of friendship and brotherhood between peoples, and in change in their own territory.
The 70 years of Masci, the events in Reggio Calabria
At the Church of San Giorgio al Corso, a photographic and documentary exhibition of the 70 years of history of the Movement will be set up from 10.30am to 6pm.
During the day, at 4 pm, it will host the musical performance by the Youth Orchestra of the “T. Gullì” of Reggio Calabria.

Immediately afterwards, at 5pm, again at the Church of San Giorgio, the sharing meeting entitled “Calabria, Land of Welcome and Integration” will be held, moderated by the Caritas director of Locri, Carme Bagalà. Greetings will be delivered by Anna Maione, Regional Secretary of Masci Calabria and Mario Laganà, Manager of Masci “Zone dello Strait”, together with Don Nuccio Cannizzaro, parish priest of the church of San Giorgio al Corso (Church of the Artists).
Speakers at the meeting will be Enzo Romeo, Red Cross Doctor – Ministry of Health, Vittorio Zito, mayor of Roccella and Giuseppe Pizzonia, former Director of the Immigration Office of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters. There will also be a video contribution by Mamadou Kouassi, inspirer and co-writer of the film “I Captain”, by Matteo Garrone.
The appointments in Piazza Italia
An interreligious dialogue for peace will be held in Piazza Italia. Carmen Manti, representative of the “God Is One” Interreligious Dialogue Association, moderated the meeting. Greetings will be brought by Mimmo Cotroneo, National Secretary of Masci and deacon Mario Casile, director of the office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue, followed by a musical introductory moment by the Interreligious Youth Choir “God Is One”.
