«The small territorial dimensions and morphological characteristics of the territory do not appear to conform to a division of the local public transport contract into four lots. There is a serious risk of creating discrimination between territories, between the most disadvantaged areas due to the current economic situation and poor urbanisation”. This is one of the concerns of the Pd and Innovare per Terni groups regarding the Region’s maxi tender for buses. A question was filed to understand the intentions of the municipal council on the problems raised following the start of the process by the Umbria Region.
Tpl and critical issues In short, the center-left wants to understand: whose side is the council on? Among the requests, as the Dem group leader Francesco Filipponi writes: «We would like to know if the municipal council intends to evaluate the need to establish a local consultation table, which sees the involvement of the trade union representatives concerned, in order to speak with the Region on the Report of assignment of urban, extra-urban, navigation and fixed local public transport services”. The splitting of the contract, according to the Democratic Party, for the Municipality of Terni could «lead to disintegration and inhomogeneity of the service, which will discourage the use of local public transport». And in perspective “this context can favor the participation in the tender of economic operators who, as demonstrated by other regional realities, do not have the organization and solidity necessary to manage services of such complexity also from an employment point of view”.
