San Ciriaco, Fair from sea to sea. The merits in Pope’s Square
Descriptive text here

The event most loved by the people of Ancona, the San Ciriaco Fair, is about to return. And this year the dancing will begin as early as Tuesday 30th April with street food in Piazza Pertini while the stalls at the fair will open as always from 1st to 4th May. But the party will continue on Sunday 5 May with the final concert, again in Piazza Pertini, by 5.5 Funk Five, Danny Losito and Chicco Allotta at 6.30pm.

The news does not end here because for the 2024 edition the municipal administration has decided to move the ceremony of civic merits on Saturday 4 May to 7 pm in Piazza del Papa. The ceremony will be preceded by the Holy Mass at 5.30 pm in the Cathedral of Cathedral. The traditional San Ciriaco tombola organized by the Yellow Cross will also take place on Saturday 4 May (in Piazza Diaz). The rides also return in the Passetto area, together with the Coldiretti “Campagna Amica” producers’ market. What is about to start is a record edition, with 437 exhibitors (in 2023 there were 424) located in an evocative walk “from sea to sea” that will go from the Passetto to Corso Garibaldi. There will be 22 gastronomy stalls and 26 exhibitors of typical products from 12 regions. The Trade Fair will host 29 companies and another 50 will be part of the Artisans’ Market. The street vendors will be located along Viale della Vittoria, from Via Giannelli to Piazza IV Novembre, where there will also be exhibitions of Typical Flavors. On the right side of the Avenue the occupation will start from Via Orsi up to Piazza IV Novembre (the first part will be left for use by residents); on the left side, however, the street vendors will line up from via Giannelli to the former Dorico stadium from the intersection with via Bianchi to the end of viale della Vittoria. In this case the last stretch will be left for the passage of residents. The counters will be open from 8.30 am to 10 pm while in Piazza Pertini the administration will begin at 6 pm on Friday 30 April and in the following days from 12 pm to midnight. There will be specialties from each region such as bombette from Salento, crescia from Gubbio, gourmet piadine, Ascoli olives, cassoni, fried gnocco with cured meats, cannoli and Sicilian arancine, grilled meats, Florentine steak, Abruzzo kebabs and much more . “Sapori Tipici” also on the Viale in the stretch between via Rismondo and via Bianchi. But the real novelty is the stand for celiacs dedicated both to the sale of gluten-free products and to the dissemination of information for people suffering from this intolerance. About ten voluntary associations and non-profit organizations will also be present.

The entertainment in Piazza Pertini is organized by the Fair, in collaboration with Emanuel Pàstina of Universal Events. The program includes a DJ set by Ancona native Giacomo Gabrielli, aka ‘La Regina’, with the best of trash and pop music for Tuesday 30 April; on Wednesday the trio ‘Cagiara’s’ performs with a repertoire of covers by Italian artists; on Thursday we continue with David Mazzoni, the well-known Ancona tenor finalist of Italia’s Got Talent, who will propose a journey into famous Italian music; Friday 3 May there will be the Hit Band quartet with a concert dedicated to Lucio Battisti; On Saturday 4 May the program closes, again, with La Regina.
