REPORT CARDS of Palermo – Parma 0-0. Defense promoted, attack ‘blunt’ but excellent by Di Francesco

In contrast to the last matches of the Corini management, the Palermo returns to a 0-0 draw against the league leaders Parma within a match that was still heated and marked by several occasions on both sides. The pink defense did not fail this time, however the attack was unable to finalize the opportunities it had. These are the individual report cards:

PIGLIACELLI 6.5 – He deflects a shot from Di Chiara – which was in turn fouled by Diakité – which was not easy, showing reflexes and reactivity. He sends Man’s insidious shot into the corner which bounces in front of him, albeit in a revisable ‘volleyball’ style. Pigliacelli proves reliable, no matter what the most skeptics say badly about him…

DIAKITE’ 6.5 – You practically never pass through his area, a wall on the right lane. He risks little offensive incursions, they would be within his limits.

LUCIONS 6.5 – His athletic condition improves, personality is his trademark and allows the defense – at least this time – to suffer very little. An important return.

NEDELCEARU 6 – As expected, Nedelcearu undermines Ceccaroni and his work as a ‘wingman’ is punctual and orderly, free of errors. He runs some danger only on a ‘rev’ from Man, who is also one of the fastest players in the championship, if not actually the fastest.

DI MARIANO 6 – He heals a bad wound after a clash with Esteves. Up until then he had played a match full of good ideas.

(from 33′) BUTTARO 5.5 – The commitment is undeniable, however even the errors have their weight: he loses a bad ball which leads to Di Chiara’s dangerous shot and above all he has an important goal from a few steps to find the opening goal, which would have been the its second consecutive. But, we repeat, the commitment has never been lacking.

HENDERSON 5.5 – Some plays, some ideas, but not enough for a player with his pedigree. We need more, an emotion, a ‘different’ play. It does not arrive.

(from 63′) SECRETS 6 – Flashes of the ‘Doctor’, interesting flashes of the Doc. He deserves ownership again, he’s getting back into shape. He wants to cook something good for the next few weeks, mark it down!

GOMES 6.5 – The Frenchman is essential, he doesn’t lose a ball, he doesn’t miss a ball. He could just, every now and then, turn up the pace a little more. But the point is clear: without Gomes the mass cannot be sung.

OF FRANCESCO 7 – The most unpredictable, the one from whom the most interesting and dangerous plots of the Rosanero brand arise: from one of his restarts Mancuso goes to shoot, from one of his perfect cross Buttaro devours. When Di Fra lights up, Palermo hopes.

LUND 6.5 – Big push for the American full-back, who is starting to get to grips with his new role. He defends better, since he knows he is better covered by the defense arm, and starts again with his usual brilliance: the low cross for Mancuso almost didn’t become an assist.

MANCUSO 6- – Very active in the offensive phase, but also not very precise. The writer knows that this rating may be severe, but Mancuso fails to find the goal after three interesting opportunities and loses balls on simple plays. His proof is not fully sufficient.

(from 63′) TRAORE’ 6 – A little something, some slight jolts, but it doesn’t turn into potential goals. Limited sufficiency.

BRUNORI 5.5 – Nervous, presumably tired, not as ruthless as one would expect from the captain. He is carving out a new role for himself: paired with Mancuso, he is often the number 9 to move back to try to win the ball, but to do this he has to burn significant energy. In the second half he was in fact suffering from fatigue and was not incisive in front of goal.

(from 90′) COULIBALY – Just for the record. He almost heads the ball in the 92nd minute and perhaps, in another world, Coulibaly scored and changed the history of him at Palermo. Not in this one though.
