Poste Italiane, in Barletta postmen will be equipped with the SOS function on their PDAs – BarlettaLive.it

Increasingly technological, postmen’s PDAs make deliveries faster and smarter but also safer thanks to the voluntary request for help function, recently integrated also on the devices supplied to Barletta’s postmen which allows emergency calls to be made.

The voluntary request for help is activated by clicking for a few seconds on the SOS button which connects the device to the Poste Italiane control rooms and can be used in the event of illness or injury. The alarm can be activated in all work phases of the postman, both during the so-called “Trip”, the daily delivery itinerary, and in the preparatory phases and upon return to the Distribution Center. The alarms are managed directly by the Poste Italiane security centers.

“The App – explains Claudio Bosurgi, Head of Security Room at Poste Italiane – has been installed on all postmen’s PDAs and allows them to send voluntary requests for help in case of need. The PDAs are connected to the 4 Poste Security Rooms in Italy so that requests are managed in real time by the operators. Every request is taken care of, the postman is contacted and if there is actually a situation of need, help is immediately called via GPS coordinates.”

The handheld device used by Barletta’s postmen speeds up tracked delivery of correspondence, parcels and registered letters, insured documents and judicial documents, also thanks to the use of the recipient’s electronic signature directly on the device and allows the recipient customer to be contacted by telephone. parcels being delivered and to effectively manage value-added operations such as payment of cash on delivery, delivery by appointment and home collection of registered mail.

The new devices are able to manage the payment of the main bills and MAV, cashless, through the PostePay “Pay with code” functionality and with the new SoftPOS payment type in contactless mode. Furthermore, it is possible to manage telephone and PostePay top-ups exclusively through electronic payments in a safer and faster way.
