They stole gold necklaces and other precious items worth 5 thousand euros from the ‘Bluespirit’ jewelery shop in the Rossini Center in Pesaro and disappeared with the loot, but 45 minutes later they were stopped by the Colli al Metauro carabinieri. It happened on Thursday, when, around 7pm, a ‘targa system’ device notified the police of the passage of a suspicious car (due to theft) in Fano heading uphill and a patrol of the Colli military positioned itself on the highway at Lucrezia’s height. In a few minutes the attentive car, a rented Fiat Panda, passes in front of them. They reach it and order the driver to stop at the Calcinelli junction. Three people inside the small car: a boy and two girls, of Chilean nationality, who speak a little Italian. They are searched and 6 gold necklaces appear from a woman’s handbag, two more from the man’s neck and an earring and a ring on the second young woman. The jewels are stolen because 7 necklaces still have the tag with the barcode and the price. At that point the trio is taken to the barracks for checks and the activity begins to trace the shop from which the stolen goods came. It is the ‘Bluespirit’ in Pesaro, where in fact a theft occurred around 6.30pm.
The carabinieri, led by lieutenant Antonello Pannaccio, also tracked down the saleswoman on duty that afternoon, who reached the Colli station, recognizing the stolen valuables and, from the photos, also the Chileans and then filed a complaint. This is followed by a complaint for aggravated theft in conspiracy against the three, who, however, are released because the technical conditions for proceeding with the arrest almost flagrantly do not exist. So the three, who had already collected a long line of complaints for crimes against property, left the barracks around 2 am and perhaps today they were already organizing a new heist.
