Gallura Award, the best La Nuova Sardegna winemakers in Loiri

Loiri Porto San Paolo The thirtieth edition of Gallura Awarda wine competition between Sardinian winemakers, has reached new records, going well beyond the expectations of the organizers both in terms of quality of wines in competition and by the number of participating producers.

The awards ceremony will be handed out on Sunday 14 April in Loiri hundreds of winemakers who had an extraordinary day. including food and wine itineraries, a catwalk of the historic cars of the Circolo Gallura and the Vespa club of Olbia, then the show with the performance of the Loiri choir and two tastings. After the lunch reserved for participants, organized with the collaboration of Pro loco of Monti, followed by a round table on the state of health and prospects of the wine sector. They intervened Francesco Lai(mayor of Loiri Porto San Paolo), Giuliano Lenzini (organizer of the Gallura Prize), Antonio Orunesu(Vermentino Road), Giulio Pittalis (Club of the Sardinians of Fiorano) e Domenico Pes (Pro loco di Monti).

At the end, the awards ceremony of the 30th edition of the Gallura Prize took place, after the winners of the competition were proclaimed among the over 100 wines in the competition, subjected to a rigorous selection with two evaluations.

Small producer white wines: 1) Sergio Demuro from Berchidda; 1) Antonio Canu of Pattada; 2) Angelo Pala by Benetutti; 3) Francesco Ledda of Benetutti. Great white wine producers: 1) Sanna Brothers of Berchidda; 2) Maria Montemitro of Macomer; 3) Filippo Fresi from Berchiddeddu. Rosé wines:1) Agostino Cocco di Ozieri; 2) Antonio Pischeddadi Buddusò; 3) Rosanna Murrai from Monti. Small producer red wines: 1) Raffaele Demuro of Oschiri; 1) Giuseppe Piero of Luras; 2) Giuseppe Virdis di Bono; 3) Marcello Fronteddu of Siniscola. Great red wine producers: 1)Maria Montemitro of Macomer; 2) Sanna Brothers of Berchidda; 3) Gianmario Uggias from Olbia. Red wines vintage 2022 gp: 1) Tonino Farina di Bono; 2) Tonino Sini by Benetutti; 3) Olmetto & Lai by Ulassai. Red wines 2022 pp: 1) Mastru Chirigu of Buddusò; 2) Antonio Pischedda of Buddusò; 3) Angelo Depperu of Luras. Dessert wines: 1) Francesco Fara from Sennori; 2)Tonino Puddighinu di Monti; 3) Pinuccio Saba Ozieri. Passion category wines the: Lorenzo Molinas Olbia; 2) Giovanni Cubadda from Ozieri; 3) Uccio Spanu by Ozieri.

Great satisfaction was expressed by the organizer, Giuliano Lenzini, for the excellent success of the event, with the hope of re-proposing a competition which after thirty editions boasts deep roots in the sector and which has opened a window on the world of wines to thousands of Sardinian winemakers who, in all likelihood, would have remained in the shadow. Not to mention the small producers, who have become large over the years also thanks to the experience of the Gallura Prize.
