Below is the complete press release issued by the Via Ferraris command

The balance of the checks carried out in recent weeks by the Agents of the city’s Local Police Command has seen the use of numerous patrols deployed to verify compliance with the Highway Code and the rules protecting commerce and urban safety.
During an inspection of a production activity, numerous violations of the rules protecting consumers and competition in trade were detected; equal to approximately €7,000 is the amount of fines issued against the owner, who will also have to reduce the sales surface area, which was increased illicitly, occupying public land, deprived of free usability. Furthermore, the person in charge, an entrepreneur in the fruit and vegetable sector, will have to clearly indicate the prices of the food products offered for sale, as well as the exact origin and provenance of the goods, which were offered to the public without respecting the correct distances, to protect quality of the same.

As part of the monitoring of the territory on the urban safety front, a patrol, on duty near a school, stopped a subject, reported by some parents as being a nuisance.
The officers who immediately intervened identified the man, a twenty-five-year-old originally from Bangladesh, who, following the outcome of the investigations, was found to be the recipient of a denial of international protection and with an expired residence permit. In addition to being reported to the judicial authorities as he is illegally present in Italy, procedures for expulsion from the national territory have been initiated against him.

During traffic police activities, the Via Ferraris officers found a metal truncheon (a real weapon), identified on board a vehicle driven by a Gallaratese citizen. The object was seized and the person responsible was referred to the judicial authorities for illegal possession and carrying of a weapon, pursuant to articles 697 and 669 of the Penal Code.

From the center to the outskirts, numerous checkpoints are carried out by the Operational Territorial Interventions Department, with particular attention to the arteries where the flow of vehicles is higher and the probability of accidents occurring due to exceeding speed limits is greater. There are many high penalties, as well as the measures taken against the drivers or on the vehicles inspected.

During the checks, eighteen vehicles were subjected to administrative seizure as they were caught in circulation without insurance coverage, three cars were subject to administrative detention, as the drivers were found to be holders of revoked or never obtained driving licenses, two people were caught driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication, while three accidents involving escape were resolved with the identification of those responsible.

Of note on the evening of Thursday 18 April was a pursuit of a car which did not stop at a checkpoint during a checkpoint and fled towards Cavaria. Driving, a fifty-year-old Italian; reached and stopped, he was found to be without a licence, while the vehicle, after a check in the database, was found to be not covered by insurance, not inspected and subjected to tax detention. Following the checks, the vehicle was seized and the confiscation procedure began.

To complete the results achieved, we highlight:
52 vehicles fined for being in circulation without having carried out the periodic inspection;
9 sanctions against drivers caught driving while using their cell phones;
2 vehicles seized because they were found in the area despite having already been subject to an order to withdraw their registration certificate (they will be confiscated);
A total of 10 vehicles removed since the beginning of the year as they were abandoned, with the simultaneous restoration of urban decor.
