Fair at the Viale and Piazza del Papa theater of the Ciriachini

ANCONA The San Ciriaco Fair changes face. Starting from the traditional ceremony of awarding the Ciriachini, the honors granted by the Municipality to the most illustrious sons of the city. The awards ceremony will take place on May 4th in Piazza del Papa, at 7 pm.

«The ceremony has always been well attended but in a huge and dispersed space like that of Piazza Cavour. We have chosen to give the right importance to such a significant event by holding it in the most elegant and symbolic place in the city” explained the choice by the councilor for Major Events and Economic Activities Angelo Eliantonio. And that won’t be the only big change.

The news

The duration of the fair will also change, with the stalls that will be present from 1st to 4th May (as usual) and a couple of events to open and close in style. «On April 30th we will have street food in Piazza Pertini and a DJ set with La Regina» anticipates Eliantonio. Time jump until May 5th for the other key event, the jazz/funky concert scheduled, again in Piazza del Papa, from 6.30 pm. Vocalist Danny Losito and Chicco Allotta, keyboardist of the English band Incognito will take to the stage. In the middle of these two events, the traditional 4 market days.

The exhibitors

«On Viale della Vittoria we will have 437 exhibitors compared to 424 in 2023, a growth trend that goes against the national trend» explains Franco Foschi of Blu Nautilus, the Romagna company that will organize the Fair again this year (the last year of the contract). Furthermore, a great return is that of the Passetto pine forest, where the Coldiretti Village will be located. A little further on, between the Monument and the Unicorn, the level parking lot will become a small amusement park with rides. In Piazza Cavour there will be a trade fair with 29 local companies and another 50 will then be exhibitors at the craft and hobby market in Corso Garibaldi.

To these will be added 19 food stands in Piazza Pertini – one, located on the Avenue, will be dedicated to products for celiacs. The deployment of forces to guarantee traffic will also be important. «The Administration’s invitation is to use local public transport as much as possible» underlines Eliantonio. In fact, there will be three shuttles available to citizens: the “red” from Del Conero to Piazza Cavour, the “yellow” from Dorico to Piazza Cavour and the green one which will shuttle between the Archi park and Piazza Cavour. «The Fair places the Administration under a certain pressure regarding services» said the mayor Daniele Silvetti. «The most identifying event» of the city which with the increased duration «demonstrates the availability of the operators and of a city that works entirely». Operators to whom we tried to make them understand that “there is attention to the numbers as well as the quality of the events” concludes the mayor.
