There are just a few days left until the party lists are closed for the European elections next June. We are now at the end and for various political formations the game is already over.

The Libertà list led by Cateno De Luca beat everyone to the punch and has already presented its candidates from the Isole constituency.

The candidates of the League, from Germanà from Messina to the new entry Ester Bonafede

Now it’s the League’s turn which, after the collapse of the agreement with Raffaele Lombardo’s MPA, has reached an agreement with Lorenzo Cesa’s UDC. A partnership destined to consolidate also among the parliamentary groups in the Chamber of Deputies.

Media attention towards the League in Sicily in recent days is understandably at its highest after the investigation that engulfed one of its leading men on the island, Luca Sammartino, who was investigated for corruption and resigned from his position as deputy governor and regional councilor .

Here are the names of the six Sicilian candidates in the starting blocks for the Lega-UDC list (the other two are from Sardinia) with the latest news:

Annalisa Tardinoleader of the list, originally from Licata, former regional commissioner of the party and in cahoots recently with Sammartino;

Raffaele Stancanellioutgoing European parliamentarian from Fratelli d’Italia, former mayor of Catania, received the green light directly from Matteo Salvini;

Mimmo Turanoregional councilor for education and training, born in ’65, is originally from Alcamo;

Nino Germanàsenator, from Messina, provincial secretary of the party, among the most ardent fans of the Strait Bridge

Francesca Reitanoformer councilor of Acquedolci and candidate for the 2014 European elections with Forza Italia.

Esther Bonafede, at UDC share, is the current superintendent of the TaoArte Foundation. Palermitana, former superintendent of the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra Foundation, was regional councilor of the Crocetta Council and in the past also a member of the Board of Directors of the Teatro Massimo.

Forza Italia goes for safe second-hand goods with Chinnici and councilors. In the Messina area he focuses on Bernardette Grasso

List also closed for Forza Italia. Antonio Tajani will run as head of the list in all constituencies except that of the Islands. FI aspires to an excellent result in Sicily, after having closed the agreement with Noi Moderati of Maurizio Lupi and Saverio Romano and with Lombardo’s Mpa (which however will not have any candidates on the list),

Here are the six Italian candidates for Sicily:

Caterina Chinnici, wanted by the secretary Tajani himself, will probably be the leader. She is the daughter of Rocco Chinnici, a magistrate killed by the mafia in 1983;

Marco Falconeregional budget councilor who has already been on the electoral campaign for some time, will represent the Catania area;

Edy Tamajofrom Palermo, also councilor of the Schifani council, with responsibility for production activities;

Massimo Dell’Utrilawyer from Caltanissetta and Sicilian coordinator of Noi Moderati.

Bernadette Grassorepresentative of the Messina area, lawyer, was regional councilor for local autonomy and public administration;

Margherita La Rocca Ruvolorepresenting the Agrigento area, mayor of Montevago and member of the Ars.
