TERAMO. A private individual and TeAm will manage, separately, the two new wooden houses in the Teramo river park. The first structure, in via Vecchio Mattatoio, was inaugurated exactly one year ago but never used. The second, in the area of the chain bridge, was completed a few weeks ago but the technical and bureaucratic procedures for connecting the utilities are still underway. Built with eco-sustainable materials and following criteria of harmonization with the surrounding environment, they will have different purposes and management. It will still take a few months before both can be fully usable.

Here the house will be managed by TeAm which will have to use it for purposes related to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, the dissemination of the culture of recycling, renewable energy and sustainable mobility. Teramo Ambiente, which will also take care of the maintenance of the surrounding green area, will also have to guarantee access to all associations that request it for shared projects and activities on environmental protection. The house aims to be a point of reference within the river park especially for schools and educational communities in the Teramo area. The address, which marks this path, was approved by the council in recent days and by the autumn the structure could open its doors.

On the occasion of the agricultural fair which will take place in the stretch of river park named after Davide De Carolis from 24 to 28 April, the little house near the lake will be used for the first time: in fact, activities will be organized there for children and teenagers, such as readings and workshops, focused on nature and respect for the ecosystem. But the structure is destined to become a kiosk for serving drinks and the Municipality is working in this direction, having started to prepare a tender for management. The tender will be aimed at private individuals but will also have a social constraint: the idea of the administrators is to provide for the hiring of one or more people with disabilities as an obligation for the future manager. What is intended to be achieved thus moves on a double track: the commercial one, which will allow the river park to finally be equipped with a refreshment point, and the social one, encouraging inclusion in an area which since its redevelopment aims to be a place of aggregation accessible and usable to all. The times, however, will not be very short as the tender is still being processed.
