In Catanzaro, local police and coast guard report a man
Illicit management of waste and pollution of surface water and soil: this is the crime alleged against a man after an intervention by the local police, in a neighborhood south of the city, which led to the seizure of an area.
The operation was carried out by the Environmental Police unit and the Soverato Coast Guard Maritime District Office.
The surveys and checks carried out on site made it possible to ascertain the presence of special dangerous waste in an uncovered area of approximately one thousand square metres, on natural terrain, without waterproofing and exposed to the risk of run-off by rainwater.
In the same area, in the absence of disposal systems, and in the vicinity of homes, waste was deposited in an uncontrolled manner and some was labeled as harmful-toxic and flammable, mixed together. In particular, these are deriving from demolition and construction activities.
