Boni on the podium, Yuanfan Yang on the piano

L’AQUILA – With the production entitled “Beethoven 5″ entirely dedicated to the genius of Bonn, the Orchestra of the Abruzzo Symphonic Institution concludes the forty-ninth season of concerts in great style on Saturday 21 April at 6.00 pm on the stage of the Ridotto of the Teatro Comunale ” V. Antonellini”.

For the occasion, the professors of the ISA Orchestra will be conducted by Marco Bonione of the most representative career Italian conductors of his generation for his vast international experience, guest of the best orchestras, appointed Honorary Conductor by the members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, after having acted as Principal Conductor of the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra of Amsterdam for 18 years .

Guest soloist is the British pianist Yuanfan Yangwinner in 2022 of the First Prize at the 32nd edition of the very prestigious “Alessandro Casagrande” International Piano Competition after completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in London early and with top marks and having won numerous other competitions of international importance.

The twenty-four year old will perform Concerto no. 5 in E flat major op.73 one of the most famous piano and orchestra concerts in the Western repertoire, powerful and audacious. The program is completed by another iconic work by Ludwig van Beethoven: the Fifth Symphony, also called “Del Destino”, certainly the most performed and the most universally known of the nine symphonies, a true watershed in the entire history of music, known for its vigorous incipit, probably the most famous symphonic beginning written, which with its four introductory notes recalls destiny knocking at the door.

The concert, which will also be performed this evening in Terni and Sunday 21 April in Foligno, concludes a very positive season for the Abruzzo Symphonic Institution, as stated by the President, Maestro Bruno Carioti: “What is coming to an end is a season which has once again seen the ISA increase its successes and consolidate its image as a team of high artistic level. There were some events held in collaboration with other institutions operating in the musical field in our area. I intend to thank them for their availability and confirm our commitment to the territory also in the future by also involving other subjects. The increase in the number of subscriptions and tickets sold testifies that the renewal of the artistic offering carried out in recent years combined with the great professionalism of the musicians who make up the orchestra is bearing fruit. This just ended is the XLIX concert season of the ISA, the next one will be the L Season: we intend to celebrate it from next October in the most appropriate way. In the meantime, let’s meet the public for our rich summer season which will have great surprises in store.”
