“Send me a postcard from our Piedmont, reporting the problems, but also the proposals”. This is one of the initiatives launched by the centre-left candidate Gianna Pentenero, which this morning officially presented the communication campaign for the Regionals. An idea that was also born from Pentenero’s passion for this now ancient “object”, but which in the past was used to tell friends and relatives where we had spent our holidays.
“Electoral fate not sealed”
As announced, the election campaign slogan is “Straight to the point”. “Heart themes – Pentenero explained this morning – they will be healthcare, transport and above all care of people”. “We want to take care of people – he added – from a work and quality of life point of view”.
If the outgoing governor Alberto Cirio appears the favorite for the June 8-9 election, the center-left candidate today strongly relaunched: “We must work to reverse the narrative that the electoral fate is already sealed: it is not like that, we write it”.
Olive tree 4.0
“I would like Piedmont – he added – became a political laboratory: I started doing politics with Romano Prodi and the Ulivo. I would like that experience to come back, I would like us to try to make an Ulivo 4.0: I know that we have the intelligence and ability to do it. To those who have not gone to vote in recent years, or are preparing to do so for the first time, I would like to give the motivation to go to the polls”.
The themes
On the 4×3 posters, but also posters and postcards, five themes will be available in as many colours: healthcare (light blue); agriculture and environment (green); transport (red); economy and work (yellow); culture, school and tourism (purple).

And on social media Pentenero will also launch “postcards” from Piedmont. Through this format it will talk about the problems, but also the proposals of the territory: among the outputs already planned Luserna, Torre Pellice and Ivrea for the Turin area, to which Biella is added. At the PD banquets – which will be set up throughout the territory – citizens will then be able to “post” a postcard with the critical issues, but also ideas, for their country/city written on it. Or they could also send England 5 to Turin.
“Ius soli and ius scholae”
She spoke during the presentation Fatima Zahra El Maliani, friend of Pentenero and just appointed to the Management Board of Compagnia di San Paolo. She is twenty-three years old, she was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by Mattarella because she was considered “a civil example”, she does not have Italian citizenship. The presence of Fatima was an opportunity for the centre-left candidate to reiterate the importance of “ius soli and ius scholae”.
“I abolish the “Vita nascente” fund
At the end of the presentation Gianna Pentenero spoke about the “Vita nascente” fund, established by councilor Maurizio Marrone, which supports the presence of anti-abortion associations in clinics. “If I become president I won’t keep it. Those 600/one thousand euros that are given cannot be the reason why a woman is told “have more children”, or a different choice”.
