The appointment is Friday 17 May 2024 at the Marina di Nettuno to complete the formalities of the Tuna Cup Anzio 2024 contest, but also to create the first moment of conviviality.
In fact, after completing registration, a first warm-up race will immediately begin as part of the newly created simulator trophy, i.e. the 1st Big Red Calypso Tournament, after which there will be a briefing on the main race, which will be held on Saturday, and then dinner gala.
Saturday 18 May 2024 instead, the actual Tuna Cup Anzio competition will open with the start of the first round, followed by the second round of the 1st Big Red Calypso Tournament. At the end of the day a nice refreshment.
Sunday 19 May 2024the second and final sea trial of the Tuna Cup Anzio and the final of the Simulator Trophy will take place.
Seven years of Tuna Cup Anzio
Since 2015, the Tuna Cup Anzio has brought together many sport fishing enthusiasts from all over Italy and puts them in competition in the waters in front of the Marina di Nettuno, a modern and hospitable port located about forty kilometers south of the Italian capital .
Organized by the ASD Anzio Fishing Club, it is a Catch&Release competition which therefore brings fun to everyone without leaving “victims” behind.
The seventh edition of the Tuna Cup Anzio 2024 will be animated by crews with anglers with different experiences and fishing techniques.
There are the “veterans” who have been drift fishing for many years and have refined their skills over time; there are also regular competition goers with competition in their blood, but also regular fishermen who are not particularly fond of competitions, who can still express their full potential here.
And there’s room for too many newbieswho fish for passion but who have never planned to compete with other anglers by participating in a contest.
In short, in addition to a competition it is also a nice opportunity to feel good together and maybe take home a photo with a nice 40/60 kilo tuna next to you (don’t worry, it will then be released alive) and, who knows, maybe end up in the medal table. We will certainly secure a prize.
Precisely because the Tuna Cup Anzio is a great celebration among fishing enthusiasts, not only the best win here, but all the participants, who are awarded a souvenir plaque regardless of their position in the rankings.
That’s not all, because if the top ten classified will be awarded a prize among those offered by the sponsors, the fishermen who place from eleventh place onwards will participate in a very fun draw to win one of the many other prizes up for grabs. So in the end, everyone wins anyway.

The Tuna Village and the simulator of the 1st Big Red Calypso Tournament
Inside the Marina di Nettuno the Tuna Village where, in addition to the stands of the main sponsors who will display their products and will be available to the public for any information and advice on outboard motors, tenders, cars, motorbikes and various accessories (Honda) – GPS, multifunction, depth sounders, electric motors, audio and total management of the vessel (Garmin), there will be meeting moments for workshops on stage with personalities from the world of fishing and boating.

There will also be food and wine moments with the tasting of local delicacies and tastings of fine wines, beer-based refreshments and finger food.
Furthermore, this year, thanks to the collaboration with Verde&Pesca, one of the historic sponsors of the event, there will be a trophy within the trophy, namely the aforementioned 1st Big Red Calypso Tournament.
It is a land-based fishing simulator (Calypso) that electronically and mechanically simulates the fight of a fish (in this specific case bluefin tuna), whose images scroll on a monitor as if you had an underwater camera.
It seems to all intents and purposes that you are fishing with a powerful tuna, but instead you are on land. There will be selection tests, preliminaries and a final, which will lead to the awarding of this trophy within the trophy and the awarding of a dedicated prize.
The rods for this type of activity will be made available by Seaquake Insane Fishingthe eddies from TICAwhile the lines that will spool the reels will be made available by Blue Springs.
The seventh edition of the Tuna Cup Anzio 2024 is also experiencing a full house, approximately 200 to 250 people are expected, but registrations are still open until a maximum of 50 crews are reached.
