“The Vallone out of the Caltanissetta Rally. We have been financing it for 2 years and now we are ousted”

Mussomeli – “The Vallone was used as an ATM, used only to withdraw money. Did they want to oust us? We’ll get out.” Salvatore Farina does not hide his bitterness and explains why the next rally will be in Caltanissetta while the Vallone will remain in name only. “After two editions in which the Walloon has effectively pulled the economic and organizational cart, today we are being unjustly ousted. It is right that people know that the so-called friends of Milena’s kiosk financed the event for 10 thousand euros last year. Just as 10 thousand euros were disbursed by the historic mussomelesei organizers, namely me, Paolo Piaparo, Pino Mingoia, Giovanni Gagliano and Biagio Mingoia. Each pilot from the Vallone paid out 200 euros and, again on the initiative of the Vallone, the funds arrived from the Municipality of Mussomeli and the Region. This year Caltanissetta has decided to eliminate us, not involving us in any decision-making choices, so as to have cars and events travel only around Caltanissetta. A choice that we do not agree with, as does the dissent of the pilots and public who have gathered around the Vallone in previous editions. From today only the Caltanissetta rally exists, the Vallone has parked. Last year we took on it and honored commitments for 89 thousand euros, creating a unique, successful and highly attractive event. We’ll see if the others will be able to do the same, without the support and participation of riders, the public and friends of the Walloon. Many friends from all over Sicily are calling me to express their sympathy, telling me that they will not participate.”
