Serious, honest, professional people.” The mayor Of Pesaro Matteo Ricci intervenes in the last ordinary common council of his legislature, «it is a greeting to the councilors, but also to an institution to which I have belonged for many years. I joined the Council in ’99, it was an extraordinary experience for me because it represented the drive of young people, who today are part of the city’s management group. I remember the emotion of a young man who wanted to bring innovation and was part of the city council where there were figures of a certain authority, starting with mayor Giovannelli. It was a great training ground, a good apprenticeship, indispensable for those who want to be involved in politics because it allows them to deal with real problems on a daily basis. Then: «I want to thank all the councillors, the debate between us was sometimes tense, but always with personal respect. We confronted each other, clashed, but always within the framework of an institutional and democratic dialectic. In recent years we have represented the city, and the value of democracy, a value that is now out of fashion and is in a regressive phase.
