In a continuous push and pull between pushes forward and about-faces, there is now a written document that certifies what the layout of the new hospital in Andria will be: the Clinical Management Plan, after the controversies of the last few hours, has arrived on the table of the institutions namely the 1st Regional Commission chaired by Fabiano Amati and the mayor of Andria Giovanna Bruno. Within the Plan validated by the Region and presented by the ASL BT we have essentially returned to a Level II hospital with the inclusion of important specialists such as cardiac surgery, neonatal intensive care and 12 operating theatres.

It is the first official document that pushes the bar further forward since 2021, the date in which the new hospital was presented with great fanfare in Castel del Monte as the new BAT Polyclinic. Three years have passed since then, the program agreement between the ministry and the region for the funds has expired, there have been a multitude of regional commissions and municipal meetings, a committee was created to support the implementation, it was transformed into a hospital of th level only to then retrace their steps, but as of now there is still no trace of the new hospital. The clinical management plan, however, is a first important piece to restart the gigantic bureaucratic mess that has “stuck” probably also because the northern area of Bari is certainly not united on the construction of this structure. And the doubts expressed yesterday to our microphones by the Mayor of Barletta Mino Cannito after the single-issue municipal council in Andria are proof of this.
