Following the initiative launched by the Prefect of L’Aquila, Giancarlo Di Vincenzo, the third meeting of the Safety Table for Avezzano and Marsica, a body established for the constant monitoring of the security situation in the area, took place in the Prefecture. with the aim of proposing new intervention strategies in response to specific needs

The meeting, chaired by the Prefect, saw the participation of the representative of the Avezzano State Police Commissariat, the Commanders of the Avezzano Companies of the Carabinieri and the Financial Police and the representative of the Avezzano Municipal Police.

During the meeting, the data relating to the public order situation in the reference area and in the first quarter of 2024 were first analysed, the summary table of which is attached: 9,673 people and 6,873 vehicles were checked, of which 38 were seized pursuant to the Highway Code, 54 people were arrested and 158 reported, 438 checks were carried out in commercial establishments, 2,971 checkpoints were carried out and drugs seized for 206.45 grams of cocaine and 99.12 grams of hashish.

Attention was also paid to the safety situation on the TUA buses, finding that no more episodes of intemperance occurred after the activation of checks on the relevant vehicles, thanks to the collaboration between the transport company and the transport service. Security Guards.

Finally, the Prefect thanked the participants for the high attention paid, for the profiles of their own skills, to the security situation in the Marsican area, updating the work of the Table to the next scheduled meeting.
