Descriptive text here

Sunday 21st April 9pm last highly anticipated appointment of the XXV edition of Prova d’Actor in Sogliano. On the stage of the Elisabetta Turroni Theater the comic duo formed by Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase, ready to interpret a small, great masterpiece of the theater of the absurd. It’s about “Delirium for two”an irresistible theatrical joke typical of the best Ionesco, where the comic and mocking frame and the verbal acrobatics still reveal a society that drowns in daily tragedy and in the disconcerting gratuitousness of behavior, and where language, instead of being an instrument of communication, is an obstacle that distances and divides.

In the comedy paradox and grotesque dominate and the perennial, futile, incessant quarrel between Him and She, ridiculous human puppets imprisoned in the web of a bored and repetitive family ménage. The topic of dispute is always and only a pretext: are the snail and the turtle the same beast or not? An absurd picklock (but which the two experience as fundamental) which acts as a springboard for an increasingly tight, acrobatic and belligerent dialogue which soon reaches the heights of a final comic nonsense, of a domestic tragicomic Helzapoppin. And all this while a mysterious civil war is raging outside the house that the two, deaf and blind to reality, almost do not perceive, impervious to the bombs that explode, the shootings that echo in the street, the massacres, the walls and ceilings that they collapse.

On stage Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase lend to “Delirio a due” their natural bizarreness, their unpredictable and never conventional talent, their taste for the sudden reversal that designs a situation that is the perfect, bitter metaphor of today, where laughter and smiles highlight even more the daily banality, conformism, the fears of a dried-up and pathologically dissatisfied society.

Corrado Nuzzo and Maria Di Biase are much loved and known by the public for their particularly intense television, cinema and radio activity in recent years, both as a couple and individually (from Zelig to Lol2 on TV, from Numeri Uni on Radio Due to the cinema with Aldo Giovanni and Giacomo and Ficarra and Picone). With “Delirio a due” the public will be curious to see them test their first love, the theatre, but in a new guise as interpreters of a great classic of the theater of the absurd.
