Differentiated autonomy, the Camper of rights from Messina: “Here are all the risks for the south”

Talk about a project that could have worsening consequences for the education system, especially in Sicily, already strongly affected by the lack of funding that fully guarantees the right to study. With this intent, the rights camper of FLC CGIL, the union of knowledge workers (school, university, research, training and AFAM), will be in town until tomorrow. A caravan that will travel throughout the country providing information on differentiated autonomy which would increase territorial disparities by promoting regionalisation. Supporting the camper’s journey are teachers, students, citizens, associations and political representatives. Today the key events of the event take place on the banks of the Strait.

The camper of rights, the program of the two days in Messina

This morning the camper met the community of the Basile Institute, led by the Headmaster Caterina Celesti, to reach Piazza Cairoli at 10.30 where a flashmob was held, enriched by the music of the young students of the “Pascoli Crispi” comprehensive institute as well as by a collection of testimonies from political leaders, associations and citizens.

Again in the afternoon, Room 4 of the UNIME Law Department hosted the seminar entitled “Constitution and territory: the consequences of differentiated autonomy”. The general secretary of the FLC CGIL, Patrizia Donato, introduced the proceedings. Also speaking were the teachers Antonio Saitta, vice-rector and full professor of constitutional law, Guido Signorino, full professor of applied economics and Lidia Lo Schiavo, associate of general sociology. The Rector Giovanna Spatari and the General Secretary FLC CGIL Sicilia Adriano Rizza brought her greetings. Graziamaria Pistorino of the FLC CGIL National Secretariat concluded the work.

In the evening, however, the concert by Antonio Modica’s band with Lello Analfino as a special guest, scheduled from 9pm onwards at the Centro multiculturale Officina.
