Pordenone aspires to an ambitious and unprecedented goal for the North East: to become Italian Capital of Culture for 2027. The official announcement was made on the occasion of a recent tender promoted by Ministry of Cultureand the city is preparing with enthusiasm to face this challenge which could transform it into a new nerve center of Italian culture.

The candidacy is not just a goal but a real starting point for a long-term cultural revolution. Pordenone wants to exploit this opportunity to launch an idea of the future based on culture as the main lever of growth and development. In this spirit, the application presentation event is scheduled for Friday 19 April at 6.30pmat the former convent of San Francesco in Piazza della Motta, and will be open to all citizens while places last.

During the event, key figures will be present such as the mayor Alessandro Ciriani, the deputy mayor and councilor for culture Alberto Parigi, representatives of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regionand cultural enterprises Parallel Social Enterprise Itineraries And The Thousand. These two entities are working respectively on the application dossier and the graphic identity, actively involving cultural organizations and the local community in a collaborative and inclusive process.
