Violence explodes again in the station area of Reggio. A fight broke out in the night between yesterday and Monday in Piazzale Marconi.
It was around 4.30 when some young foreigners started arguing and then kicked and punched each other and hit each other with bottles. Some residents were woken up by the chaos, including shouts and the noise of ‘scuffles’ and called the police. Two patrols from the mobile radio unit of the Reggio company rushed to the scene and found an 18-year-old Tunisian boy injured by glass shards on the ground: he was not seriously injured in the arm. But it was still necessary to be transported to the emergency room of the Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova for the necessary medications.
The military called an ambulance which took the boy to the emergency room where he was treated by healthcare personnel. The young man said he was attacked by two peers for trivial reasons.
When the carabinieri arrived in Piazzale Marconi, there was no longer any trace of the attackers and they had already disappeared. Investigations are underway to reconstruct what happened and identify the fugitives. The images of the video surveillance cameras present in the area now being examined by the investigators and the testimony of the citizens, who observed everything from the windows of the buildings, increasingly angry and worried, will be invaluable for the investigations.
Last Sunday there was another episode with an argument that escalated into a fight after the theft of a wallet from a woman, in the area between Via Don Alai and Via Monsignor Tondelli.
